These companies out of Kentucky and Ohio came into the area following Florence.

Those companies are:

  • Action Tree Pros, Kentucky
  • Premier Landscaping and Lawn Care, Kentucky
  • Scotts Tree Service, Ohio

Attorney General Josh Stein says one of the companies charged more than $29,000 for just one tree and more than $78,000 for five trees.

Stein says taking advantage of situations like this is illegal and will not be tolerated.

"This is against the law in North Carolina, and we will not tolerate it. That is why we are bringing these actions today," says Stein.
