FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- A death investigation is underway in Fayetteville.

• Man's body found inside Fayetteville home.
• Man found unresponsive inside home on Plantation Road.
• There's no word yet on how the man died. 

Police were called to a home in the 200 block of Plantation Road around 2:15 p.m. Sunday.

That's where they found the body of 79-year-old Willis Earl Whitfield.

There’s no word on how the man died, but officials say it appears to be suspicious.

The body has been sent to the medical examiner to learn the exact cause of death.
