WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- A man is facing charges after a five-year-old in his home shot themselves in the hand with a stolen gun.

Winston-Salem police say they were called to the home on Gholson Avenue Sunday afternoon.

The child was taken to the hospital by EMS and is expected to be OK. 

Police say the gun was stolen and they charged Charles Parsons with a number of charges including possession of a firearm by a felon.
