BOONE, N.C. -- The Boone Police Department is investigating after the body of a woman was discovered in an apartment Tuesday.
- A woman was found dead in Boone Tuesday morning.
- Body was discovered in an apartment on Terrace Lane.
- ID has not been released.
Police were responding to a welfare check call shortly before noon at an apartment building on Terrace Lane.
The Boone Police Criminal Investigations Division is currently conducting an investigation into the death.
The cause of death has not been released.
Police are withholding the identity of the deceased pending the notification of their next of kin, per standard procedure.
