CHARLOTTE -- At Camp North End, four goats with endless appetites are helping developers expose more property. They're eating away at the invasive species kudzu and other brush that's in the way.

• You can visit the goats during a tour at 4 p.m. on Fridays

Eclipse, Ginko, Peter and Hops were borrowed from the Wish We Had Acres farm in Charlotte. 

“I’m told they can eat up to 80 pounds of plant material a day. Interestingly enough, we give them fresh water every day, but they don’t drink much at all because they get a lot of water through the plant life they’re eating," said Alex Smith of Camp North End. 

Tenants at the converted industrial site are curiously stopping by to get a glimpse of their eating habits. They'll eventually consume up to two acres of greenery.

“Just eating away… what a life! Fun to see the progression of what they’ve done to clean up the space in an eco-friendly way," said Brittany Yoho, chief strategy officer at Hygge.
