WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- In a first of its kind across the country, a Winston-Salem clinic is looking to treat you for your illnesses and help with your finances.

WellQ is a joint effort with Wake Forest Baptist Hospital and Allegacy Federal Credit Union. With an annual membership cost, patients will be able to go to the clinic for checkups and issues like strep throat. They will also have access to financial planning.

"So we're trying to create an opportunity to help individuals and coach them to create a preventative type of opportunity that could happen on either side,” said Allegacy President, Cathy Pace. “As you know, if you have a major financial issue, that could impact your health through stress and vice versa."

The clinic opens up Wednesday. It won't take insurance. Officials say the companies guidelines would make prices higher.
