Wednesday was cooler than normal with highs topping out in the upper 50s to mid 60s across Central Texas.  Austin recorded a high of 65 at the airport and 66 in downtown.  Typically in late November, we should be near 70 degrees. 

Northerly winds have gust around 25 to 35 mph this morning but they gradually diminished through the afternoon.

A few large storms rumbled through the coast but they're all offshore at this point, leaving dry travel conditions for the entire Lone Star State. Locally, our winds will turn calm overnight and that will allow for one of the coldest nights we've had so far this season.  Widespread 30s are likely with some locations dipping to freezing in the Hill Country.  Southerly winds will gradually start coming back by Thanksgiving afternoon with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s.

We're looking for abundant sunshine the next five to six days. A much weaker cold front is scheduled to cross Texas on Saturday, with temps dropping only a few degrees for Sunday. Upper-level high pressure will gradually move from over Mexico to Texas by late weekend, keeping us dry and stable...and good for return travel for folks heading back home.

We'll warm up well into the 70s as we start next week before a polar cold front comes racing towards the Gulf Coast, likely to arrive Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning as it looks now. See the 7 Day Forecast for more.
