Greek Peak Mountain Resort opens on schedule, breaking a new record — for snowmaking that is.

Warmer temperatures lately made for less snowfall, but that didn't stop staff at the ski resort.

They used 64 guns to make snow. In the past, they've only had to use around 50.

When it was a bit colder, staff made the snow and piled it up.

Then as it came closer to opening day, they smoothed it out for skiiers and snowboarders.

Staff at the resort say they are glad to see so many people already enjoying the slopes.

"It's awesome. We had been looking forward all season to getting our guests out here. We know that they are hyped and stoked for the season, so to see all the smiling faces out on the slopes is wonderful for us," said Kaitlyn Head, marketing and sales manager for the resort.

There are 55 trails at Greek Peak but only six are currently open.
