ADAMS, N.Y. -- Earlier this year, the Adams Fire Department entered a national contest to win equipment that could save the life of someone who fell into a silo.

Adams won. It's one of 13 departments nationwide that will get this life-saving tube equipment.

It's now calling on all departments to come to a special training event next Wednesday night, August 3rd at its fire hall on Route 11.

The department says it's more than willing to bring the gear out in most area emergencies, but is hopeful nearby departments want to learn how to use the equipment as well.

It's a volutneer department and people work during the day. There won't always be enough people responding with the equipment.

That training is from 6-10pm and again everyone is welcome.
