A Cazenovia man died in an air show plane crash this weekend.
The Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in the Hudson Valley says Brian Coughlin, 60, was on Fokker D.VIII aircraft that went down off the south end of a runway during an exhibit at around 3 p.m. Saturday. Officers say a mechanical issue in the engine of a replica World War I plane caused a fire, causing it to crash.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said the National Transportation Safety Board will be in charge of investigating the crash. Aerodrome officials say Coughlin was one of their longtime volunteers and board members.
The New York State Police, Red Hook and Milan fire departments, Northern Dutchess Paramedics responded to the scene. An investigation continues.
