The Jefferson County SPCA is still recovering from flood damage over the weekend.

Workers in Watertown found about four inches of water in the adoption center. They say the flood was caused when a pipe burst, most likely due to the cold temperatures.

Now they're waiting for insurance adjusters to assess the damage and find out what's covered.

The SPCA recently had $30,000 in renovations, and workers feel like all that work went down the drain.

"We were devastated,” said Jefferson County SPCA Operations Manager Katelynn Drohan. “We worked really hard on this. My director she told me she felt so sick that she felt like she was going to throw up. She put so much time and energy and just thought into the changes to make it better."

They'll be asking for help from the public soon. As of now the center is closed, with hopes of reopening this weekend.
