One person is dead following a house fire in Fairmount.

Emergency responders were called to Myron Road around 8:15 a.m. Sunday.

The home was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.

The Camillus Police Department says 55-year-old Donald Insel was not able to get out of the home in time.

"Our detectives and county fire investigators will be treating this as a crime scene and conducting their investigation. Our evidence technicians will be on scene to collect evidence, and we will determine the cause and origin of this fire,” said Thomas Winn, Camillus police chief.

The investigation is ongoing.
