The War Memorial honored those who have risked their lives serving our country during their annual Veterans Day ceremony.

Guests could explore the Honor Wall and War Memorial Museum that walks you through every major American conflict.

Veterans and community leaders also gave out numerous awards including Veteran of the Year, which went to Vietnam War Veteran Marvin Triggs Jr. He says he was thrilled to be there, especially after being told decades ago he would never walk again due to the war.

"They said it was something that got into me from Vietnam, a parasite that got into my water system, so my knees locked up, my ankles locked up couldn't walk. And they gave me tons of Penicillin, and on September 13 I walked out of there,” he said.

The ceremony also honored the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, which marks the exact time World War I ended.
