With Veterans Day approaching many organizations across the North Country are honoring veterans.

Fort Drum held their annual Wreath Laying Ceremony Thursday. It's a tradition dedicated to honoring all who served.

The Major General of Fort Drum assisted in the Wreath Laying. He took time to honor a 31 year veteran who was a significant leader for the post.

"We simply would not be what we are today if it wasn't for Col. Mike Plummer, so we honor all veterans today, but I want us to all remember this special man, because we honored General Carpenter and also General S. but we're really glad they brought the Plummer along when they came to NY," saud Fort Drum Major General Walter Piatt.

In 1991, Plummer was the Chief of Staff, Assistant Division Commander for Support.
