A dog who was found severely malnourished on Syracuse's west side last week has died.

A warning to viewers — the photos in the video are graphic.

Mavis, a pit bull, was trying to recover from her injuries after being left on the street at an animal hospital in Seneca Falls.

She was originally found by a Good Samaritan.

Cuse Pit Crew spent their Sunday handing out flyers about reporting the person responsible for the abuse.

They are now offering a $3,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.

They say she put up a good fight, but ultimately her abused body couldn't take it.

"She had surgery, she had pneumonia and on top of that she was very, very emaciated still. So we knew we were never really out of the woods but we were hoping for the best for Mavis. But we are happy to know she definitely knew love and affection at the end of her life. We just wish there was a different outcome for her,” said Stefanie Heath, Cuse Pit Crew founder.
