A different state of emotion from when these soldiers first stepped off the bus, in to the midst of Hurricane Florence.

"We got into the local community and we could see that there were some areas that were damaged and some people that were displaced," said 110th Truck Composite Company Soldier Alexender Natale.

Once they arrived, they immediately jumping in and lending a hand. A mission, the soldiers were ready for.

"We had the opportunity to execute search and rescue missions, high water crossing missions,” said 110th Truck Composite Company Manager Terrell Vereevn. “We worked directly with FEMA and escorting them throughout the affected areas."

"We have the best drivers in the entire army,” said Thomas Gabrysiak, another 110th Truck Composite Company Soldier. “I always felt like we were prepared to be there and perform the mission."

Soldiers say it was an experience they'll never forget.

"We were able to aid them and everything,” said Gabrysiak. “And just be with the people we were helping and see how grateful they were for us to be there."

Now that they're back, soldiers couldn't have asked for a better reward: family.

"Those people their homes were taken away in an instant and they lost everything,” said Natale. “So, definitely grateful for home life, grateful for your pets, your family, everything.
