UTICA, N.Y. -- A group dedicated to rescuing dogs labled to be un-adopted continues to grow and expand.

This summer, Lainey's Army and their partners Road to Home Rescue, have moved into a new location on Broad Street in Utica.

A garage sale was held this week, raising money to purchase a new furnace and air conditioning unit.

The organization rehabilitates aggressive dogs so they can find forever homes.

Their new space is 11,000 square-feet and will soon undergo major renovations to meet their needs. By the end of the year they hope to have all of the dogs in kennels -- along with an indoor training area, cuddle rooms and more.

"It's a new exciting time and we're just feeling our way the first year. Is this going to work? Is this a good thing? How's the winter going to be? How's the furnace going to be? Can we afford to be in this size facility because it's a lot of space, that's a large space. But, then how can we afford not to be, because the dogs love it," said Kim Strong, the founder of Lainey's Army.

Road to Home Rescue and Lainey's Army currently house 80 dogs in their new facility. Because they had so many donations, the garage sale will continue for one more week.
