ROMULUS, N.Y. — The New York State Senate unanimously passed a bill that would block a proposed garbage incinerator from being constructed in Seneca County

Circular Ener-G wants to build the incinerator in Romulus, between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes.

Since that idea was presented to the Seneca Town Board, many people have expressed concern.

The lawyers representing neighbors and businesses against the incinerator say with the Senate taking action, they now hope the bill can be passed by the Assembly and signed by the governor before the end of the legislative session.
