Some hockey fans feel like it's a big win for Clinton. Despite the Clinton Arena taking the Kraft Hockeyville USA competition a few months ago, the venue for the game was up in the air. However, the arena will host some of the world's best skaters in September. As our Melissa Krull tells us in this video, work is underway and the excitement is just beginning.

CLINTON, N.Y. -- Deliberations are over, the Kraft Hockeyville USA preseason NHL game is happening in Oneida County.

The Buffalo Sabres and Columbus Blue Jackets are playing in the preseason game at Clinton Arena.

And $150,000 will go toward rink improvements, like the height of the side glass, which is part of the reason why other venues were initially being looked at for the game.

The win came a few months ago, after a swell of votes from dedicated fans.

"A lot, that's all I can say is a lot. Whenever I was on the computer and it would pop up, I'd vote. And especially on the last day," said hockey fan Jim Spella of Herkimer about how often he voted.

The game is scheduled for Tuesday, September 25th.
