It's going to be a Dino-mite summer at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo as the zoo kicked off its Dinosaur Invasion! exhibit Friday.

A dozen animatronic dinosaurs are on display throughout the zoo.

The exhibit is part of the 101 Days of Dinosaurs.

"We're an accredited zoo,” said , Friends of the Zoo President Janet Agostini. “We've seen them at our sister institutions, so we just thought it would be a great exhibit to have because it talks about extinction. As an accredited zoo, we're all about saving animals from extinction and so it ended up being a great platform for us in order to have those conversation and fun and entertaining as well."

There will be tons of activities and tours throughout the summer. The exhibit runs from now through Labor Day.
