WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- A well-known Watertown restaurant is re-opening its doors.

The Crystal Restaurant voluntarily closed back in March due to building code violations in the upstairs apartment.

The restaurant was packed with customers Tuesday excited to be back. Many say the temporary closure took a toll on the community.

"I think a lot of Watertown is really excited,” said customer Darien Frederick. “I mean especially with their tom and Jerry, around Christmas time. Who doesn't love to come? It's pretty iconic especially in the downtown Watertown area."

The Crystal Restaurant first opened in 1925.
