The city of Watertown joined thousands of other communities across the nation to celebrate Arbor Day on Friday.

A Bur Oak tree was planted at Temple Street Park, and at the Sci Tech Museum, free pea plants were given out.

National Arbor Day usually takes place every year on the last Friday in April. It's a day all about planting and taking care of trees.

Watertown has been a 'tree city' for the past 17 years, so having a lot of trees and diverse tree populations is something the city takes pride in.
