If you're looking for a ride in Ithaca, you now have a new, environmentally-friendly option.

Employees with California-based LimeBike spent the day unloading and installing bikes and stations in the city.

The bike share company is installing nearly 200 bikes. The stations are strategically placed around the downtown area. Rides cost one dollar for each half-hour.

Officials say they're already seeing a lot of interest from the community.

“Within seconds, it seems, there have been many, many people coming out, looking at the bikes and taking them for a ride. So we're thrilled to see so many people excited about biking in Ithaca and trying these new very colorful bike share bikes," said Victoria Armstrong, Bike Walk Tompkins’ program director.

Bike-Walk Tompkins is expected to hold a ribbon-cutting for the new bikes Saturday.
