The man accused of threatening New York Congressman John Katko has pleaded guilty.

Authorities say 28-year-old Patrick Angelo of Syracuse pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to the charge of interstate communication of a threat.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison, a $250,000 fine or both.

The charge stems from a call Angelo made to Katko's Washington, DC office back in October, in which he threatened to kill Katko and his family if he voted against net neutrality.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 21.
