The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office identified the deputy who fired a shot during a confrontation with a suspect in Salina last week.

The Sheriff's office said Deputy Kristina Ormsby was the first officer to respond to a call involving an emotionally disturbed person at a home on Traister Street Thursday night.

Authorities said Ormsby was physically attacked by 28-year-old Andrew Mannolini, which prompted her to fire one shot in his direction.

The bullet did not hit anyone.

Mannolini is charged with second degree assault, resisting arrest, and obstructing governmental administration.
