Leaders gave updates on two big projects that are expected to bring hundreds of jobs to the Mohawk Valley.

General Managers for the new Danfoss Silicon Power facility and the Tractor Supply Distribution Center spoke at a presentation hosted by The Genesis Group on Tuesday. It took place at Utica College.

Both said their projects are moving along smoothly.

The Danfoss Silicon Power facility is located in Utica. Developers anticipate hiring about 300 people in the next several years.

Tractor Supply's distribution center is being built in Frankfort, and officials hope to employ 290 people by the end of the year.

"I spent a lot of time with the local workforce development group, and the energy is great," said Wayne Evans, the General Manager for the new Tractor Supply distribution center. "The warm reception we've received, and the need in the area, we couldn't ask for a better situation."

"We've been working very collarboratively with SUNY Poly," said Mike Hennessey, the General Manager for the new Danfoss Silicon Power facility in Utica. "The group is ver good to work with. We've been trying to share with them some of the technology so that we can encourage some of the students,"

The Danfoss facility should be bringing equipment inside in April.

The Tractor Supply Distribution Center should be completely closed in; walls and roof, by the end of the month.

Both projects should be complete by the end of the year.
