A trial date has been set for the driver accused of hitting a man who was standing on the side of the road on Route 104.

Charles Valone, 59, was struck while assisting a tow truck operator in July of 2016.

Officials say Valone was standing next to a Triple-A worker who was dealing with his daughter's stalled car when he was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Michael Nardone is charged with manslaughter and assault.

The trial is scheduled to begin on July 16.

The Move Over Law requires motorists to switch lanes and provide clearance for emergency vehicles with flashing lights.
