A corrections officer at a Central New York prison has been arrested for allegedly attempting to bring drugs into the facility.

Ryan Santos, 27 of Rome, was taken into custody Saturday following an investigation.

State police say he tried to bring drugs into Mid-State Correctional Facility in Oneida County -- where he works.

Santos is facing a felony charge of attempted promoting prison contraband in the first-degree. He was arraigned and has since been released.

Troopers say the investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
