More than 600 volunteers spent the weekend cleaning about 110 lawns throughout Oneida County during the Intergenerational Fall Clean-up.

It is an annual event put on by the Oneida County Youth Bureau and Office for the Aging. Volunteers help senior citizens who physically can’t do the yard work or can’t financially afford to have it done.

"It's more so an opportunity to get the seniors to socialize with youth," said Kevin Green, the Oneida County Youth Bureau director. "It's their day just to sit back, put their feet up, relax, and watch how our wonderful Oneida County community gives back to them."

Intergenerational Spring Clean-ups are also held each year. More information on the events can be found at: http://www.ocgov.net/oneida/youth.
