SPECTRUM NEWS VIDEO: The 754 Barbershop on North Salina Street is offering free haircuts to every customer that brings in a donation for Puerto Rico.

The owner of the barbershop and veteran Suntrana Allen, who is from New Orleans, says she knows from personal experience how horrifying being in a hurricane zone can be. She said she was also inspired by one of her barbers, who is of Puerto Rican heritage.

“I’ve experienced Katrina, Andrew and the flood that happened last year. I know how that devastation can be. And for me to have a barber here that’s from Puerto Rico and they don’t have access to neighboring states. That’s such a crisis,” said Allen.

The barbershop is offering the free haircuts until Wednesday.
