CLAYTON, N.Y. -- More than sixty dogs spent the weekend hitting the water for the Seaway Splash competition in Clayton.

They showed off their jumping, catching and swimming skills as they competed for top spots in the finals. A fan favorite of the competition was the splash event, where dogs leapt from a dock and tried to jump the farthest distance.

While it is a competition, owners say it's also all about their pets having fun.

"I do this for the dogs. I love seeing them get excited to go swimming, to jump. They love to do this, so I do it for them," said Shaun Uldrikis, Hyde Park resident.

The annual event brings people and pooches from across the state.
