SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A 24-year-old Syracuse man faces a second-degree murder charge following the shooting death of another man on Friday.

Denzel Perler was arrested Tuesday and was set to be arraigned on the murder charge, plus other connected charges, Wednesday morning, according to Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler.

Perler is accused of shooting and killing 31-year-old Chevalier Fisher, of Syracuse. Fowler said Fisher had children with Perler's sister.

"We believe the dispute was domestic in nature," Fowler said during a press conference Wednesday, but declined to give further specifics citing the ongoing investigation.
