The teachers union NYSUT, along with UFT, is suing SUNY over the new charter school regulations. The main issue is that the regulations lower the amount of time for teacher candidate field experience. NYSUT officials say that while they understand that there's a high teacher turnover rate, they're concerned that these changes will lead to unqualified teachers in the classroom.
