One of the most talked about storylines heading into this weeks first round of NFL playoffs will be the Bills playing their former head coach and former first-round pick.

Former head coach Doug Marrone bounced from Buffalo about three years ago, taking advantage of an opt-out clause in his contract that allowed him to leave and still collect $4 million. Despite Bills fans vitriol towards Marrone, the Jaguars head coach isn't looking in the rear view.

"Obviously the past is the past. I'm happy for them," Marrone said. "They've earned it, as well as we've earned it. My focus is obviously going to be on our football team. I think it's as easy as that for me."

The Bills will also get an up close look at former defensive tackle Marcell Dareus.

The Jags making the playoffs actually helped Buffalo — it elevated the draft pick compensation from the trade to a 5th rounder.

It continues to look like the week 8 move benefited both teams, and a move Dareus believes spices things up for both fanbases.

"Bills fans are all hitting me and Jags fans as well," Dareus said. "Everyone is overly excited. It's going to be a fun game. It's going to be pretty crazy. These two teams that haven't been there in a while and are playing each other, both fanbases are going to go crazy and they're already going crazy so it's exciting."

While Bills fans don't have a ton of recent experience dealing with the playoffs, that doesn't mean the team is devoid of guys who have played in the postseason.

Most notably some of the guys on Sean McDermott's Leadership Council have been there before.

Lorenzo Alexander, Micah Hyde and Tyrod Taylor are all part of that group and have all been in the playoffs at previous stops.

It's those guys that McDermott — who went to the playoffs in Philadelphia and Carolina — will lean on to guide his squad into Sunday.

"Yeah we have some guys that do have some experience, some guys that have gone to different depths in the playoffs," McDermott said. "Leadership is always important. I talk a lot about that. That leadership council that I have, some have been to the playoffs, some haven't. I’m going to rely on all those guys to continue to connect my message, and probably more than anything, lead by example this week."

The Bills and Jags kickoff the AFC wild card round in Jacksonville this Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
