HENRIETTA, N.Y. — Most of the east coast is coping with the cold thanks to the arctic blast that's slamming much of the United States, and Rochester is no different.

For those who work outdoors, it's a particularly daunting challenge.

Postal carriers, for instance, have to be out in this weather day in and day out, despite feeling the affects of the cold after just a few minutes enduring it.

However, those who make deliveries for the post office say with the right preparations, anyone can spend the whole day in it.

The Postal Service provides adequate warm clothing for its workers this time of the year, but one of the issues they say can be a problem for delivering, is accessibility through snow. Sometimes mail might be delayed due to unshoveled paths around the mailbox.

Check back with Spectrum News as our reporter, Alex Howard, spoke with a postal carrier this morning and will have more on the difficulties of the job with this sever winter weather.
