ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Most people throughout the region woke up to a couple inches of snow Friday morning.

On the roads is a mix of snow, slush and even some sleet — a combination that's resulting in some difficult driving conditions.

Snow plows are making the rounds trying to clear away the slippery stuff. Additional snow accumulation of one to three inches is expected in much of the Rochester area.

That means, on what is expected to be one of the busiest travel weekends of the year, it is going to be a bit slower because of these challenging road conditions out there.

AAA officials project a record 107 million people will fly or drive this holiday weekend. This winter blast is affecting much of the Great Lakes and Northeast-so prepare for that.

Locally, driving speeds appear to be happening below posted speed limits in some areas because of the snowy conditions.

So far airlines operating on-schedule at the Rochester airport, but make sure to check for flight status updates.
