A new class of subway cars is coming to the city, and the MTA is giving the public a limited first look at a prototype.

Straphangers are slated to have the opportunity to see the new car design up-close Thursday through next Wednesday, at the 7 line subway station on 34th St.

The prototype is scheduled to be open to the public from 11a.m. to 7 p.m. during the week, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. over the weekend.

MTA staff will be there to get feedback and help customers fill out surveys.

The new cars feature 58-inch door spans, which are eight inches wider than standard doors.

They also include digital displays with real-time information about service and stations.

The MTA is expected to start testing the new cars in 2020.
