ROCHESTER N.Y. – The Rochester Lancers indoor soccer has returned starting in early 2019.

Lancers patriarch "Soccer Sam" Fantauzzo announced Saturday morning.

“It’s something special. Indoor soccer appeals to the hockey, lacrosse and the basketball fan – it’s different.”

He says there will be three teams. One will be the Indoor Lancers, who will play at the Dome Arena in Henrietta as part of the MASL2, a development league for the Major Arena Soccer League, and fans are excited.

“I was a fan at first and I’ll be a fan till I die,” said D.J. Vella, who is also a proud team sponsor.

He said though he's sad to see the Rochester Rhinos on hiatus, he is hopeful the Lancers will feel that void.

The home opener is set for Friday, January 4.

Game tickets are 15 dollars and a season ticket pass of 99 dollars for all three teams is also available.

The Lady Lancers and Lancers will continue playing outdoors at Aquinas Institute, at this time.
