ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The owner of Founders Cafe is paying tribute to illustrious Rochester women as part of Women's History Month.

“With Women's History Month being in March, I decided to redo the entire wall and include 5 prominent women,” said owner, Michael Ellman.

The names were revealed Wednesday. The women added to the wall include cyclist Elsa Von Blumen, physician Sarah R. A. Dolley, activist Susan B. Anthony, Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren and late Congresswoman Louise Slaughter. According to Ellman, he decided to add women to the establishment's wall to illustrate equality and to honor their contributions.

"That touches my heart and it gives me pride to know that Louise will always be there right next to Susan B. Anthony's name,” said Geena Cruz of Rochester.

“Very few communities can talk about the legacy of women like we can. From the foundation that was laid by Susan B. Anthony and a tradition that was carried on by Congresswoman Slaughter, I am blessed and thank god to be here,” said Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren.

Founders Cafe is located at 13 S. Fitzhugh St.
