Ever wanted to be a bell ringer during the bustling holiday season?

The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign needs more volunteers as the Christmas season continues.

All it takes is an hour or two per week and volunteers are encouraged to bring friends.

“To help the people that seem to fall through the cracks. Those that were not imbursed from state, county or federal funding,” said Major John Stewart of the Syracuse Area Salvation Army. “Those that are disenfranchised and ran across some bad luck. Or the chronic or mentally disturbed that don’t have any coverage.”

But if volunteering isn’t in the schedule, donations are always welcome.
