Wegmans looking to open store in Washington, D.C.

One of Rochester's biggest brand names is heading to the nation's capital. 

Wegmans is working toward opening a store in Washington D.C., although it won't have the traditional shape shoppers are used to.

The Wegmans will go under a structure as part of a new mixed-use development on D.C.'s Wisconsin Avenue.

The 90,000 square foot store will have an at-grade entrance in the back. 

There is no word yet on when this store would open.
