The Aquinas Li'l Irish are back-to-back sectional champions after defeating McQuaid 49-18 in the Class AA Final.

The Irish didn't start as strong as the final score would make it seem. On their opening drive McQuaid's Ben Beauchamp came up with the interception to give his team possession at their own 9-yard line.

Aquinas was able to get the ball back and capitalized. Caron Robinson broke off for an incredible run to make it 7-0 Aquinas.

On the ensuing kickoff McQuaid fumbled to give Aquinas the ball back. Ruben Tores found the endzone for the first of his three scores on the night.

McQuaid got on the board with a Mark Passero rushing touchdown. The Knights elected to go for two throughout the night. None of their attempts were successful.

A perfectly executed flea flicker led to a 41-yard score for Aquinas. Ulysees Russell was on the receiving end to make it 21-6.

Beauchamp came up with another first half interception that he returned for 32 yards to put the Knights in great field position.

Hunter Walsh was able to find Casey Howlett in the back corner of the endzone to keep McQuaid within nine points. This one 21-12 at the half.

Aquinas brought the pressure in the second. Will Benjamin came up with the strip for Aquinas which allowed James Waters to recover for another Irish touchdown.

Mark's cousin, Andrew Passero, also found the endzone on the ground for the Knights.

But Torres answered twice to help the Irish pull away. A pick six from Russell sealed the Aquinas victory.
