Grayson Zenelovic is in his second season as Wayne’s quarterback, a position that he assumed after his older brother, Braeden, suffered a broken foot early last season.

”Me and him definitely bonded as brothers through that time," said Braeden. "It was great, it was a learning experience for both of us and we were able to help each other both ways throughout it.”

Having your brother’s back runs in the Zenelovic family. RPD sergeant Flamur Zenelovic was shot three times by a homicide suspect. Sticking to his training and home field advantage saving his life.

”It happened right in the front yard of where we grew up," said Lt. Naser Zenelovic. "But it’s one of those unexplained things it just happens. My dad’s Ford Explorer at the time, he always parked it there and it provided my brother an area of cover, where to run to.”

Flamur is back on the force and strong as ever, but the boys always have both of their role models on their minds.

”He just tells me, know that if anything ever happens to me, he loves me and my uncle’s had the same conversation with me, especially after it happened, but my father said it before, that he’s gonna come home to us every night,” said Grayson.

Braeden has shown an interest in police work. Grayson is following a similar path, hoping to become a Navy Seal.

“He’s always had this desire to serve the Country, he’s very patriotic," said Naser. "I know what his calling is and he’s fulfilling that.”
