As a former first round draft pick, Red Wings shortstop Nick Gordon has experienced plenty of success on the diamond. Gordon, aka G-Cinco, is also an internet music sensation, with over 250,000 views on YouTube.

Gordon says he draws a lot of inspiration for his lyrics from his baseball career. In the music video for "Big Checks" the 22-year-old can been seen wearing his brother Dee's Mariners jersey. His song, "My Life" even features footage from his draft night.

"You know the draft was a big part of my life, baseball is a big part of my life, so I wanted to show that through that song," said Gordon.

And while Gordon says he doesn't mind if his two worlds come together, in a way, they kind of already have. With players from Single A to the majors choosing to walk up to a G-Cinco track.

"I don't say anything bad in the songs so they definitely make for some good walk-up songs. They're about the grind, baseball, so players relate to it," said Gordon.

For now, rapping is just a hobby for Gordon, baseball is still the dream.

"I want to be in the major leagues one day, so that's really the goal for me, but whatever happens happens, I'll just take it all in," said Gordon.
