ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Two long-standing Rochester icons are served up together as the Red Wings become the Rochester Plates for one game only, Thursday against the Norfolk Tides.
The Plates' special uniforms have home fries, mac salad, a cheeseburger, meat sauce and onions, with a plastic fork and numbers on the back written out in a squirt of mustard. Caps, uniforms and other fan gear quickly sold out.
It's a Rochester thing to take someone new in town to get their first plate, so we thought, let's take pitcher Tim Melville to Nick Tahou's and see what he thinks of the signature dish.
