ROCHESTER, N.Y. — After losing the Democrat primary for the 25th Congressional District, Robin Wilt now appears to be exploring a run for State Assembly.

Wilt's camp says the Brighton Town Board member is currently gathering signatures for a designating petition.

Those signatures are due to the New York State Board of elections starting next week ahead of the September 13th primary.

Wilt placed fourth in last week's federal primary.

Jamie Romeo, the chair of the Monroe County Democratic Committee, announced in May that she's running for the 136th Assembly District, currently held by Majority Leader Joe Morelle, who won the federal primary for the 25th Congressional District.

Jaclyn Richard, the president of the Rochester chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW), has also declared her candidacy for the 136th Assembly District.
