Josh Allen's path to this week's NFL Draft may be the most unheralded of all the top quarterback prospects. He says he begged schools in emails to take a look at him out of junior college, ending up with just one offer from Wyoming, where former North Dakota State head coach Craig Bohl had recently taken over.

Now Allen's looking to follow the same path as Bohl's signal caller with the Bisons, who's now flying high after being the 2nd overall pick two years ago.

"A lot of smaller school guys go onto the NFL and have success. Carson Wentz, Derek Carr for example. Carson Wentz would've been the MVP this past season had he not gotten hurt. The transition from year one to year two was exceptional for him. Just knowing that we played in the same system. Obviously people like to compare me to him, I look at that as a compliment. He's a fantastic football player, fantastic quarterback,” said Allen.

What's concerning about the competition Allen faced is how he didn't dominate it, with just over 1,800 yards and 16 touchdowns last season. His touchdown to interception ratio the past two seasons is around two-to-one. Accuracy is also an issue, with just a 56-percent completion percentage. Allen's been working with Jordan Palmer the past few months and feels his mechanics are helping correct things.

"Just working on consistent footwork. Kind of every throw that I had this past season where I missed, it was derived from my feet. So trying to put myself in the most uncomfortable position, getting back to the same base, short front stride, let everything else follow through and sequence consistently and hopefully we're getting close. I feel improvement and I feel like whenever my feet are set I'm as accurate as anybody,” said Allen.

Allen says it's more about where you go, not when, that matters most to your NFL success, and is fine to sitting at least his first season in the league. He's a wild card, with his draft position considered anywhere in the first round.

We wrap up our profiles Wednesday by looking at UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen.
