Members of the Rochester Police Department and other first responders lined Crittenden Boulevard Wednesday night to exchange a special "goodnight" with patients at Golisano Children's Hospital.

Police cars, fire trucks and ambulances lined the streets, flashing their lights in response to the patients who also waved light sticks.

Patients, parents and staff all expressed their appreciation for the special "Let it Glow" goodnight.

"I thought it was really kind of so many officers," said Samantha Gardner, whose 10-year-old daughter Tyler is a patient at Golisano's.

"To have them all out there, showing support to all these sweet kids that are here and unfortunately have to be here. It makes for a long day and that really broke up the evening."

Another special "goodnight" is planned for December 12 and 19; hospital staff hope there are many more in the future.
