Buffalo Center for Arts and Technology got a major tech upgrade on Wednesday.

Thanks to Mission: Ignite and Spectrum, the center's two computer labs are filled with dozens of new desktop computers.

BCAT hosts after-school programs and adult vocational training.

Before getting the new computers, some programs the center offers were in jeopardy because the old systems didn't support the proper software.

“For the youth, they now have access to all kinds of software and applications that allow them to edit in the videography, do art and fine art, videography, compose their own music, compose their own dance and choreography,” said Gina Burkhardt, BCAT president and CEO.

Spectrum is owned by Charter Communications, which is the parent company of this news channel.
