In the 23rd Congressional District, Representative Tom Reed and Democratic challenger Tracy Mitrano debated over many issues at Corning Community College.

One of the biggest issues in the campaign is the future of health care. The two candidates have very different takes.

"What we need to do is not embrace government run health care. I get it that people are fearful and have anxiety about their health care. But you turn it over to government and give government that kind of power over your lives – $32 trillion of tax increases are coming your way,” Reed said.

"We have 40,000 people in this district without any form of health care including 8,000 children. We have a representative who in 8 years has done nothing to help and nothing about it,” Mitrano said.

The two candidates also discussed taxes, the opioid epidemic and the political climate across the country and in the district.
